| A pleasant sunny evening for the 10,000m track championships. The walkers were first off in the warmest of conditions with Peter Kaneen and Marie Jackson taking the men 's & ladies titles respectively.
Things had cooled down marginally for the record field of runners. Kevin Loundes finished the strongest of the leading pack in the closing stages to take the title ahead of Andy Fox and Ed Gumbley.
